We hit up five locations. The fifth one, not really being considered for this school. The first school sat on top of a hill and had some stellar views of the Pacific ocean. Robert said that at night the sunsets from here are amazing (and I'm sure it is true). This school was huge and currently only has about twenty-four or so students.
School number two sat right on the ocean. This one took my breathe away. Potentially the whole building would be rebuilt using glass and steel architecture, to provide some amazing views of the ocean. I'm a sucker for the ocean, and the idea of sitting right over the ocean grabbed me in!
Number three also sat right on the ocean, although the building is set back more so it would not feel like you're about to fall in. This school had lots of fun spaces including a place to walk right onto the rocks next to the ocean. There is also a cool bike path the runs next to it, which is part of a bike path that would eventually go all the way around Taiwan (I think).
The fourth school on our agenda was up in the mountains. This school reminded me a lot of Kuolai (where I work) and had cool teacher accommodation and lots of space for classrooms and the like. It was the most remote school and definitely had the isolated feel.
Finally there is school number five. This school had some big terraces on the property, lots of classroom space, an indoor "gymnastics" area, and sat in a tiny town which featured a temple. Very cool.
